Skills for Growth
SkillsHub advocates workforce development to fuel industry innovation. In 2009, SkillsHub became a service provider under Skills for Growth: the Victorian government's new Workforce Development Program. As a service provider of Skills for Growth, SkillsHub can access government funding for your business to finance training and workforce development needs.
About the program
The Skills for Growth program supports small and medium businesses through the identification of skills development opportunities and tailored training solutions. The program provides the opportunity for small and medium businesses in the creative and leisure industries to work with an independent specialist free of charge to assist in developing their workforce skills.
Benefits for your business
If your business meets the Skills for Growth basic eligibility requirements, a specialist can provide assistance with:
- identification of business opportunities
- a review of your strategic goals
- a detailed Workforce Action Plan that identifies appropriate skills development and training opportunities for your staff.
The service is completely confidential and can be extremely useful when planning for your business success and growth. View the Westside Circus Case Study as an example of how the Skills for Growth program can work to benefit your business.
Business eligibility criteria
Please note to be eligible for the program you must:
- employ at least one staff member and no more than 200 staff
- be Victorian-based
- be financially viable.
